About Croft House

Croft House is a privately-run nursery registered by Ofsted to care for children between the ages of six weeks and five years. It was opened in the autumn of 1989 in a former family home at the end of Bridge St, Horwich. We recently moved, just a few metres, to a larger, newly renovated building at the entrance to Bridge St. The Nursery receives support from the Bolton Start Well Team.

Croft House is run by Janet Lomax-Baker B.Ed. (Hons), M.A. (Nursery Management) EYPS who is a well-qualified and experienced Early Years Teacher with three children of her own. She is a former Registered Nursery Inspector for Ofsted and is experienced in advising childcare settings in the private and voluntary sector. The Nursery offers many benefits, including the ability to provide a homely, family-type atmosphere. This has always been one of the main aims of Croft House Nursery.

Croft House is situated in a quiet area of Horwich, close to parkland and therefore ideally suited to children. This offers great scope for walks, picnics and woodland learning in the area.
